2023 A Year in Review: Graduation

As we look back on 2023, we look back on what our organization has accomplished over the past year. While it was our first year conducting these lessons, we were able to closely connect with a specific class from Lyceum No. 27 named after V. O. Sukhomlynskyi. We are extremely fortunate to announce that this class recently graduated this past spring and is officially named our first BBFU Graduating class. While we are disappointed to see them go, we wish them all the best in their college journeys and hope they will apply their skills they acquired through the program. despite the virtual limitation.

Throughout the year, we had the privilege of building personal connections with these students, even despite virtual limitations and time difference discrepancies. Our conversations were more than just ordinary English lessons, instead they were moments were language connected us and we all had a voice to share our unique stories and aspirations. Whether through virtual lessons, conversations, or shared experiences, we saw firsthand how our work connected us across borders and brought us closer together.

These students taught us just as much as we taught them, and they’ve left a lasting impact on all of us at Bridging Borders. Despite living at a time of constant military danger and power outages, the students embodied resilience, determination, and a true passion for learning.

For the upcoming year, we will continue expanding this program as we gain more experience with time and connect with even more students and schools across Ukraine. Here’s to another year, one lesson at a time!
